The Butternut Area Park was developed
in 1982 by the
Village of Butternut and
surrounding communities to be used for
events ranging from Weddings to Family
Reunions.  It is also used yearly for The
Pioneer Days and The Butternut Area
Fair.  The park is well shaded with trees
and very spacious to accommodate
gatherings of all sizes.  It has a main
building consisting of a kitchen, dining
room, fully stocked bar, a dance floor with
stage and rest rooms.  Other building
include a gazebo, covered stand with seats
around outside and an  outdoor stage.  It
also has a ball field for sports and a large
parking lot.
In 2008 the baseball field was
dedicated to David Mertig for
his years of dedication to
Butternut Baseball.
